Are we Willing?

Mark 1:12-13 CSB
[12] Immediately the Spirit drove him into the wilderness. [13] He was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels were serving him.

Hey guys.  I’ll look at this in more detail next week.  But this week I’ll keep it short and simple.

We’ve just seen the most important mission commission in history.  God Himself speaks to Jesus for everyone to hear.

Mark 1:11 CSB
[11] And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased.”

After that what did Jesus do?  He listened to the Spirit and went into the wilderness, deeper into the wilderness.  He allowed Himself to be driven into the wilderness. He allowed the Spirit to take control.

The word wilderness is used twice in these verses, the term wild animals is used once, and the evil one himself Satan makes an appearance.  This place was as wild as it gets.  Jesus went anyway.

If we are His followers.  Will we follow? Will we allow that same Spirit to drive us?

Love in Christ,

Colby
