It really doesn’t get any more simple than this.
Big Question!
When was the last time that you just ran to Jesus to HEAR His Word?
Not go so you can minister (Which needs to be done. Don’t hear what I’m not saying.)
Not go so you are seen.
Not go because someone says you should.
Or any number of other reasons.
Just to HEAR His Word!
Look at our text.
Mark 2:1-2 CSB
[1] When he entered Capernaum again after some days, it was reported that he was at home. [2] So many people gathered together that there was no more room, not even in the doorway, and he was speaking the Word to them.
Now I’m not delusional. Most of the people in this text were likely wanting to see a miracle. That’s the thing though. The miracle is the Word and they probably missed it, at least at first. The fact that He is Here to save… That’s the miracle.
Romans 5:8 CSB
[8] But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
The phrase “at least at first” is the key though. Jesus knew why these people had come and He delivered exactly what they needed.
The Word! Himself!
We need Jesus. We need to Hear Him. We need to be in His presence. All of us, Christians and Non-Christians alike.
So don’t just go to Church or your prayer place or even just a quiet corner.
Run to Jesus! Fall at His feet! Open up the Word! Open up to the Word!
Hear Jesus!
Love in Christ,
Colby
