The Need!

As I look around at people today I see hurting, exasperation, regret, illness, fatigue, anger and so many more negatives. But I also see joy, fun, happiness, laughter, excitement and so many more positives.

Fortunately… unfortunately… or perhaps some crazy meld of the two…  (I can’t even wrap my mind around that let alone articulate it here.)  Sometimes these positives and negatives are tangled together in the same people.  Quite often all of this is put on display for the whole world to see and yet sometimes it’s hidden away and needs to be searched out.

The reason I say this is because all of us have a common need.  Let’s take a look at our text.

Mark 2:3-5 CSB
[3] They came to him bringing a paralytic, carried by four of them. [4] Since they were not able to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and after digging through it, they lowered the mat on which the paralytic was lying. [5] Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

No matter where you are in life.  No matter where you are in your feelings.  No matter where you are in your thinking.  Your problems are not a lack of finances, a lack of health, or a lack of any physical need or things.  If you think you have no problems or needs then that’s a problem in and of itself.  As I said earlier we all have at least one.

Jesus gave the paralytic man and his friends so much more than they were expecting.  The 5; he and his four friends; came looking for a fix to his ailment.  What they got was everything they needed.  Not just healing but salvation as well.

Mark 2:5 CSB
[5] Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

Sin is the  problem we all have.  That’s the need we all have.  The forgiveness of sins is what we all need.

Jesus always forgives the sins of those who come to Him in faith.

Jesus always gives Jesus!

He died on a cross and rose 3 days later defeating sin and death.  Paying the penalty for your sin.

Romans 3:23 CSB
[23] For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;

Romans 5:8 CSB
[8] But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 CSB
[23] For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16-17 CSB
[16] For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Jesus is offering you everything you need.  Accept Him today.  Just tell Him you accept Him as if He were a friend, because He is.  He’ll hear.  Come to Jesus in faith and you will be saved.

Find a Bible and just read.  Ask a pastor your questions.  Find a good church and get involved.  Your life will never be the same.

Love in Christ,

Colby
